HMS Push Notifications Quick-fix
You may have noticed that some apps installed via Petal Search and Quick Apps will not notify you when there has been activity in the background. Do not panic, there are some solutions I have worked through and explanations I got to try and replace Firebase Cloud Management which runs through Google domains.
If your device was released after May 16 2019, your phone will not offer Google Services. This includes Google Play Services in accordance with U.S. Law https://support.google.com/android/thread/29434011?hl=en.
If your apps are not sending notifications the quickest fix is to disable automatic power management. This is built into your devices operating system and governs how power is used by apps in the background. The default setting will be set to “On,” as a result your device will minimise power usage and suspend background activity whenever your device goes into standby mode.
Open “Settings” – select “Battery” – select “App Launch” – and switch off automatic power management.
You should see some of you push alerts coming through.
Where push notifications do not pull through, open the app settings and select “Contact Us.” This should open a mail window or client chat window depending on the app. Be sure to permit the app to send usage data. Send a clear email, detailing the device you are using, location and the issue you are experiencing. Developers from most apps normally respond within hours with a fix or an expected update date for the issue you have experienced.
