In May 2020, Huawei launched its mobile operating system called HMS in South Africa. Mobile operating systems globally are primarily dominated by iOS and Android; according to apple (2017), Apple altogether sold over 2.2 Billion worldwide twelve years after its initial release. Google (2019) announced that there are currently 2.5 billion active Android devices. We can safely conclude that most South African organizations are also using Apple (iOS) and Android in their mobile devices as part of their mobile and digitization strategy.
